Summary

The Role:
Become a role model and help transform the lives of children in Hampshire.

Do you enjoy working with children and young people and want to make a meaningful impact? We’re looking for a Children’s Home Support Worker to join our modern, well-equipped residential home in Odiham.

Our home provides care and support for up to four children up to the age of 17. The aim of the home is to accommodate children at the younger end of the spectrum, particularly those under the age of 12. Using our Pillars of Parenting model of care, we focus on each child’s individual strengths to help them grow, thrive, and achieve positive outcomes. With the support of Hampshire County Council’s trauma-informed therapeutic framework, we aim to reunite children with their families or prepare them for independent living.

What you’ll do:
As a Children’s Home Support Worker, you’ll be part of a dedicated team providing day-to-day care and emotional support to children living in the home. You’ll help create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel valued and understood.

Your role will include:

• Supporting children with their health and wellbeing needs.
• Encouraging engagement in education and recreational activities.
• Helping children work towards their individual care plans.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking compassionate, resilient individuals who are committed to making a difference. You’ll need to be patient, empathetic, and able to build trusting relationships with children who may have experienced trauma.

Ideally, you’ll hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). If not, you must be willing to complete this qualification with our full support.

We’re passionate about equipping our support workers with the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care. Through our Pillars of Parenting approach, you’ll receive training and guidance to help you grow professionally while making a real impact in children’s lives.

Why join us?
In return, for your hard work and dedication Hampshire County Council can offer you an improved work-life balance through our excellent benefits package including:

• Access to Local Government Pension Scheme
• Between 25 - 28 days annual leave entitlement (dependent on Local Authority service)
• Employee Support Services
• Family friendly policies
