We have exciting opportunity for those looking to join Adult Social Care as non-qualified Social Care Assessors.
We are looking for a Social Care Assessor to join our Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team. You will have chance to work alongside a well-established and experienced team of Best Interest Assessors/Social Workers, as a Social Care Assessor supporting our duties in line with the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards work.
Main purpose of the role:
To provide coordination of our “front of door” duties which include, coordination and prioritisation of all DoLS Applications received into Cheshire West and Chester Council, liaising with our partners, acting as a point of contact in relation to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, coordination of best interest assessors and s12 doctors to undertake assessments, supporting review of our waiting well applications.
Our Social Care Assessors will play a critical role in supporting the DoLS Team undertake their duties under the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
You will:
• Be required to undertake an enhanced DBS plus Adults Barred List (Essential).
• Have working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act(essential) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Administrative duties(desirable).
• Have excellent time management and work well under pressure.
• You are confident, energetic, and enthusiastic as well as sensitive and resilient.
• Experience of working with vulnerable people and their carers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, carers and families.
• Awareness of importance of multi-disciplinary working and an integrated approach.
• Problem solver with good planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to relate to other disciplines in a sensitive and professional manner.
• Ability to cope positively with change and an ability to promote positive changes to make a difference.
• Self-motivating individual with the passion to make a difference in adult social care.
• Resilient personal stress management.
