Are you all about putting people first and giving them the highest standards of service? We’re looking for a Holidays Assistant Manager who can help to make sure that everyone has their best possible holiday with the National Trust.

Your work patterns will be 8-4, 9 -5, 10- 6, 11-7 and 12-8 subject to weekly rotas which are submitted 2 weeks in advance. Weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required.

What it's like to work here
Reporting to the Holidays Operations Managers and Area Manager; you may be asked to lead a small team and training will be provided. There are exciting opportunities within the Holidays team and the wider National Trust.



Working with a dynamic and energetic team across two campsites, Wasdale and Eskdale Campsite, working in teams of 2 – 5 individuals at any one time. Each campsite has its own special charm being situated in two quite different iconic West Lakes Valleys. Wasdale being the home to the England’s deepest Lake, England’s Highest Mountain (Scafell Pike) and Britain’s favourite view, whilst Eskdale being a gateway to the magnificent Western fells with numerous sites and activities available to visitors. The campsites are ideal locations for our guests to begin new adventures.

What you'll be doing
Your focus will be on giving great service to everyone who chooses to stay in a Trust place. You’ll be answering their questions, following our usual procedures, and working with the local Trust teams as well as Contact Centre staff to make sure we’re being consistent and keeping standards high everywhere.

You’ll be cleaning facilities block and pods whilst also conducting desk work. You’ll keep the wider team on track with compliance requirements.

You’ll be the first point of contact for the contractors. You’ll supervise and lead the team through training, coaching and development. You’ll be co-ordinating rotas with bookings, organising changeovers and service cleans, and efficiently managing stock control, buying and stores. You'll help to recruit new staff, providing clear induction and training.

You’ll help to respond to incidents, and do all that’s needed to keep everyone safe. You'll also tackle unplanned tasks as they arise, to help keep standards high and people happy.

Who we're looking for
We'd love to hear from you if you’re:

someone with practical operational experience in a holiday business
good at talking to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
used to achieving high standards of housekeeping, presentation and maintenance
able to supervise and support others in your team
confident with Microsoft Office
familiar with health and safety procedures and compliance, and writing risk assessments
