Summary

The Home Office works to build a safe, fair and prosperous UK. We achieve this through our work on counter-terrorism, policing, crime, drugs policy, immigration and passports.

The Customer Services Group is an important operational arm of the Home Office, responsible for delivering a wide range of public services that support the UK’s economy and cultural life. Our work spans the administration of passports, citizenship, civil registration, and visas, as well as managing asylum applications, support and accommodation, along with resettlement and returns.

Asylum Support, Accommodation and Resettlement (ASAR) is responsible for accommodating and supporting asylum seekers as well as placing refugees and asylum-seeking children across the UK, in partnership with private sector accommodation providers, local authorities and other delivery partners through a number of arrangements. This area is a fast paced and politically sensitive environment.

The Estates & Property team plays a vital role in enabling the Home Office to meet its statutory responsibilities by supporting the delivery of non-detained accommodation across the UK. We manage one of the most varied and complex estates in government, working in a fast-paced and operationally critical environment.

Our team provides specialist support services across asylum accommodation, including facilities management, health and safety, and fire safety. We are committed to developing our people, offering clear career pathways, structured learning and opportunities to build specialist expertise within a supportive and inclusive culture.

As Senior Facilities Management Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of hard and soft facilities management services across a regional portfolio of buildings. You will work closely with commercial partners and internal stakeholders to ensure properties are safe, compliant and well maintained — directly supporting the wellbeing of residents and the effective operation of essential public services.

This is an opportunity to make a visible difference, lead others and develop your career within one of the largest and most complex estates portfolios in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Facilities Management Delivery Lead, you will:

  • Ensure the provision of high-quality and consistent communication with key stakeholders, supporting and guiding team members to deliver clear, professional engagement.
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day performance of the regional FM team, ensuring the successful delivery of services across a changing portfolio of properties and maintaining a visible presence with a proactive local interface with hard and soft FM suppliers.
  • Support and direct the team to ensure the seamless resolution of day-to-day issues, including providing emergency call-out coordination where required.
  • Oversee and quality-assure management information produced by the team to support effective management of the estate and supplier performance.
  • Identify risks within service delivery and work with the team to implement mitigating actions, providing timely escalation where necessary to minimise business and operational risk.
  • Lead and support the team’s contribution to the planning and delivery of targets and objectives in order to meet Home Office Estates targets and priorities.
  • Represent and support the team through active attendance and participation in supplier contract performance meetings, as required.
  • Ensure the team undertakes effective audit, assurance and validation activities, drawing on reports from the Contracts Management team and physical inspections.
