You will be a vital part of the kitchen team, working 37.5 hours a week, making daily meals for our service users, staff and visitors. You will prepare food and help guide and train other team members. Our calendar is full of activities and special events for you to cook for. As a Sous Chef you will be: Helping with the day-to-day running of the kitchen. Following good food storage and stock rotation practices. Preparing, planning and cooking meals to a high standard, including for special diets. Serving food and drink to service users, staff and visitors in a professional way. Making food for conferences and events. Helping with food cost control. Following all ‘Safer Food Better Business’ standards and keeping records. Always sticking to Food Hygiene Regulations and safety rules. Taking charge of the kitchen for your shift. Helping the Head Chef research and create new menus that are healthy and high quality. Filing all HACCP paperwork correctly, like temperature checks and cleaning schedules. You will need: To be 18 or over. GCSE English or similar. City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) in Basic Food Preparation Cooking. Basic Food Hygiene certificate (a must). Intermediate Food Hygiene (preferred). To follow HACCP fully. Knowledge and experience of implementing IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) guidelines. Experience in a similar kitchen (e.g., schools, healthcare, or volume catering). Experience cooking for large numbers. Some experience with menus, costing, ordering, stock and budgets is ideal. Where you will be working: Badby Park, Badby Road West, Daventry, NN11 4NH You will work with our clinical teams to care for people with neurological conditions, brain and spinal injuries.
