As a Crop Picker you will be responsible for harvesting fruits, vegetables, or other agricultural crops by hand or using simple tools. This role is essential to ensuring that produce is collected efficiently, handled carefully, and prepared for packing or distribution.
You will be responsible for:
• Harvesting crops by hand or using basic tools, following quality standards
• Identifying ripe produce and handle items carefully to avoid damage
• Sorting and packing harvested crops into crates, boxes, or containers
• Working quickly and efficiently to meet daily production targets
• Following instructions from supervisors regarding picking methods and field layout
• Assisting with basic field tasks such as weeding or plant maintenance as required
• Maintaining a clean work area and follow food safety and hygiene rules
• Reporting damaged crops, pests, or field issues to supervisors
For the position you will need the following;
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Good physical fitness and stamina for repetitive, active outdoor work
• Ability to identify ripe or ready-to-harvest produce
• Strong attention to detail and care in handling fragile crops
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
This is an ongoing seasonal position.
This role will be on a 4 on 4 off rota with start time typically being 7am.
The hourly rate for the role is £12.21, you will accrue up to 28 days holiday per year.
