Summary
A well-established Ayrshire engineering contractor operating across a range of industrial sectors is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Project Engineer to join its project delivery team.
The role will involve managing mechanical and pipework projects from initial tender stage through to final handover. You will be responsible for reviewing enquiries, supporting tender submissions, clarifying project scope with clients, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, and overseeing all technical, commercial and programme aspects of delivery.
Projects typically range from small works through to multi-million pound installations within regulated industrial environments. The position offers a hands-on mix of project management, engineering input and client liaison, working closely with internal fabrication, site and commercial teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing projects from tender to completion
- Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Carrying out site surveys and technical reviews
- Coordinating design, fabrication and installation activities
- Monitoring cost, quality, safety and programme targets
- Handling technical queries and contract variations
Requirements:
- HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience within mechanical services, pipework or industrial engineering projects
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and CAD drawings
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
