Summary
About the role:As an eComm User Experience Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering high‑performing digital journeys across O2's online shop. Focusing on both acquisition and upgrade funnels, you will design seamless, intuitive eCommerce experiences that help customers easily find, compare, and purchase devices, SIMs, and accessories. Working closely with product, design, engineering, commercial, and data teams, you will translate customer insights and business requirements into data‑driven, conversion‑focused design solutions. This is a hands-on design role where you will use Figma and the in‑house design system to prototype, test, iterate, and present your work to senior stakeholders.

Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days onsite (London Paddington or Reading)
Contract: 4-8 weeks initially (possible extension)
Pay Rate: £500 per day, Inside IR35 (via an approved umbrella company)
Roles and Responsibilities:Experience Design & Delivery* Design and deliver end‑to‑end eCommerce journeys for O2's online shop
* Create intuitive interfaces for discovery, comparison, configuration, checkout, and payment
* Champion accessibility, mobile‑first design, and usability across experiences
* Lead the creation of data‑driven design solutions that improve conversion, AOV, and customer satisfaction
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement* Work closely with product managers, developers, designers, commercial and data teams
* Translate business goals and customer insights into design recommendations
* Present design concepts and rationale to senior leadership for alignment and approvals
Experimentation & Optimisation* Use analytics, A/B testing, heatmaps, and user research to validate design hypotheses
* Identify pain points and improve funnel performance across acquisition and upgrade journeys
* Apply continuous improvement thinking to enhance customer flows and KPIs
Design Craft & Tools* Use Figma and the in‑house design system to prototype and deliver high‑quality UI/UX assets
* Maintain consistency across journeys, components, and patterns
* Support design system evolution through reusable components and documented standards
Ways of Working* Operate effectively within agile squads
* Manage multiple workstreams, balancing speed with quality
* Support cross‑functional decision‑making with user‑centred insight
Other stuff we're potentially looking for:
- eCommerce Expertise
- Strong experience designing UX for ecommerce or other transactional products * Proven ability to optimise acquisition, upgrade, checkout, or payment flows
Design Tools & Accessibility* Expertise in Figma (or equivalent)
* Good knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and mobile‑first principles
Analytics & Experimentation* Comfortable working with data, user testing, and experimenting with solutions
* Familiarity with A/B testing methods and funnel analysis
Collaboration & Communication* Strong communication skills and stakeholder confidence
* Experience working within cross‑functional/digital product teams
Desirable* Experience working within telecoms, retail, or other high-volume transactional industries
* Exposure to agile delivery methodologies
* Prior experience designing for large-scale, multi-channel customer journeys
