Summary

Overview

We are seeking skilled and experienced CNC Turners to join our dynamic team. This role involves working with Mazak, Haas, and Doosan machines on a double shift pattern. Shift Pattern:

1st Week: Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Friday: 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM
2nd Week: Monday - Thursday: 2:00 PM - 11:25 PM
Hours: 36.33 hours per week
Pay Rate: £16.00 - £20.00 per hour (depending on experience) + 20% shift allowance

Responsibilities

As a CNC Turner, your key responsibilities will include:

• Selecting and setting up cutting tools for machining operations using CNC or conventional lathes.
• Mounting and dismounting workpieces on/from the lathe.
• Performing roughing and finishing operations to meet precise specifications.
• Interpreting and working from mechanical and technical drawings.
• Conducting quality control checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of turning lathes and tools.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

Essential:

• Apprentice-trained, time-served engineer with hands-on experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in operating manual and CNC turning lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of industrial machining techniques and quality control processes.
• Strong understanding of OHSE practices in the workplace.
• Reliability, precision, and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to changing workloads.

Desirable:

• Experience in an AS9100 or similar quality-controlled environment.
• Ability to program and part-program at the machines.
• Problem-solving skills and experience in implementing process improvements.
• Experience in leading continuous improvement strategies.

Day-to-Day

Your daily tasks will include:

• Preparing and setting up CNC machines for production.
• Monitoring machining processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Performing regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
• Collaborating with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Conducting quality checks to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
