Design Manager Description
As Design Manager, you’ll be responsible for shaping, coordinating and delivering the design elements across a range of construction and renovation projects. Working closely with Architects, Contractors, Clients and Project Teams you’ll ensure that design intent is maintained from concept through to delivery, balancing creativity with buildability.
Design Manager Key responsibilities:

Lead all design stages, from initial concept development through technical design and construction documentation.
•
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants and subcontractors to ensure design quality and compliance.
•
Manage design risks, value-engineer proposals and align design solutions with project budgets and timelines.
•
Oversee preparation and review of drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
•
Champion high standards of design quality, sustainability and regulatory compliance throughout projects.
•
Support tendering activities and provide expert design input at client presentations and site meetings.
Design Manager Criteria:
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical excellence and strategic leadership:

Proven experience in design management within construction, refurbishment or restoration sectors.
•
Strong understanding of building regulations, planning consent processes, and technical specification.
•
Excellent communication skills — confident in client-facing scenarios and cross-discipline collaboration.
•
Organised and decisive, capable of managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
•
Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
