Graduate Learning Support Assistant (SEN) | The Role
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils access the curriculum
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff
• Assisting with the delivery of EHCP strategies and personalised learning plans
• Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
This role offers excellent exposure to SEN provision within a mainstream primary school and is highly regarded by postgraduate training providers.
About You :
• A degree in any subject area; Education, Psychology, Early Years, Early Childhood, or other Social Sciences are desirable but not essential
• Have a genuine interest in supporting children with SEN
• Be patient, empathetic, resilient, and professional
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Have experience working with children or young people (desirable, but not essential)
No prior school-based experience is required, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
