Summary
Facilities Assistant £28,000 pa
11 am to 7pm Monday to Friday (Term time)
9 am to 5 pm (during the school holidays)

About the role
As Facilities Assistant, you will be ensuring the school remains a safe and welcoming environment during and after hours. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, you will be in the Estate team and be at the heart of keeping everything running smoothly.
Your duties will include:
• Ensuring the safety of pupils and staff during the day and out-of-hours activities
• Managing daily tasks including waste disposal, restocking washrooms, and keeping indoor and outdoor spaces tidy and maintained
• Moving furniture and setting up events
• General maintenance duties across the site including the buildings, sports areas and woodland
• Assisting grounds staff with seasonal garden tasks
• Supporting the Estates team with maintenance and development projects during the quieter holiday periods
• Responding to emergency situations as and when
• Assuming responsibility for fire emergencies procedure outside of the school day
Essential requirements
• Hold a full, clean driving licence
Safeguarding
• The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, and all appointments are subject to satisfactory references and pre-employment checks.
• All posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants will be required to declare all convictions and cautions (including those that are spent, unless protected under DBS filtering rules) to assess suitability for working with children.

• Physically fit and able to meet the demands of an active, hands-on role which is based inside and out
• Comfortable working without direct supervision and as part of a small, supportive team
• Calm, resilient, and professional with good attention to detail
• A reliable team member who takes pride in their work
• Personable and friendly with the ability to relate to staff, parents, and pupils at all levels
• Willing to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities
• Skills in maintenance such as woodwork, plumbing and decorating would be helpful
