Summary
Looking for a female self-employed PA to provide support in the Walderslade area to provide sit-in support for an 80 year-old lady with dementia. A PA is required to provide company and support for 4 hours per week (days and times to be discussed with the client), enabling her main carer and daughter the opportunity for some very much needed respite from her caring role.
This lady was born in Pakistan and can speak and understand only limited English, so Punjabi language skills have been requested and would be very much desired and helpful, however it is not essential.
She also needs regular gentle prompting to encourage eating and drinking, mobilising and maintaining good personal hygiene. Some personal care may be required to support this lady with her continence care needs.
This is a lively and active family household, with the client trying to juggle multiple caring responsibilities whilst maintaining the home. If the opportunity allows, there may be some light domestic tasks to be undertaken.
A patient, empathetic and cheerful PA with good motivational skills is essential in order to try and engage this lady in everyday activities where possible.
Occasional support to encourage this lady to mobilise out in the community would also be desirable, so holding a driving licence would be preferred but is not essential.
Due to the nature of the support, a female PA is required.
Enhanced DBS and references required.
This advert complies with the Equality Act 2010
For more information and to request an application pack please contact sdsadmin@medway.gov.uk or call 01634331351.
