About You

Essential Requirements

PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or Childcare
Relevant industry experience working with children and/or adults in care settings
About the Role
We are recruiting a Health & Social Care Tutor / Childcare Tutor to join our expanding provision at our new Leeds centre.

This is a rewarding full-time Study Programme Tutor role, delivering high-quality, practical learning to post-16 learners studying Health and Social Care and Childcare qualifications, from Entry Level to Level 2.

You will manage learners’ journeys from initial interview and assessment through to successful completion and accreditation, delivering engaging teaching that builds industry knowledge, employability skills, confidence, and progression routes into further education, apprenticeships, or employment.

Alongside vocational delivery, you will support learners to achieve English and Maths (Functional Skills or GCSE), working with specialist teams, and uphold the highest standards of teaching in line with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Health & Social Care and Childcare teaching and assessment
Teach Entry Level to Level 2 qualifications
Support learners’ employability, social skills, and personal development
Support delivery of English and Maths (with specialist support)
Track learner progress and maintain accurate records
Provide pastoral and tutorial support
Embed ICT and digital learning tools
Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment


Safeguarding responsibilities: This role will involve daily contact with learners, and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. All staff have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, and/or vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. The Charity’s Safeguarding Policy is available from Central YMCA website.

Any offer of employment will be subject to successfully completing pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure, the receipt of satisfactory references, relevant original ID documentation and examination certificates.
