Summary
We are looking to recruit a Band 6 RMN to join the team.
The work base is within the Regional Bed Unit at HMP Manchester. Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will be expected to support men who are residing on the unit with aspects of their physical and/ or mental health needs.
The postholder should be enthusiastic, resilient and committed to ensuring patients in HMP Manchester receive high standards of care.
The role involves working closely with service users, the prison service, health and social care professionals, criminal justice related agencies and allied agencies. The ability to develop and promote effective working relationships with colleagues is essential.
As the Regional Bed Unit is a residential unit, there will be a requirement for the postholder to cover shifts over a 24 hour period on a rota basis.

As a deputy unit manager, there will be a requirement to support the unit manager and colleagues in the implementation of Trust and HMPPS policies and protocols and to collaboratively implement change management. There will be a requirement to support other colleagues for example through supervision, appraisals and the delivery of training.

The successful applicant will be required to work with the MDT to ensure holistic care is provided to patients who are resident on the Regional Bed Unit in HMP Manchester.
The role will involve supervision, appraisals and support of professional development of peers.
There will be a requirement to support the team manager in reviewing and managing incidents and complaints and the completion of local audits along with development of action plans.
Clinically, the post holder will be required to assess patients with a range of complex needs, ensuring that care is well planned and delivered. This will include robust risk assessment and management, liaison with professionals both internal and external to the prison and safe discharge planning.
