Summary
Key responsibilities
To construct and manufacture metal housing units and other steel products by cutting joining and shaping metal using various tools and techniques following drawings and specifications
Skills required
Proven experience in MIG welding of Mild and Zintec steel ranging from 1.5mm – 15mm in various weld positions.
Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment for MIG along with cutting and burning torches.
Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable.
Able to work within + or – 5mm tolerances.
Good working knowledge of all types of power tools.
Good working knowledge of operating metal folding machines and guillotines.
Coded weld certification would be beneficial.
Strong attention to detail.
Experience of working well under pressure, prioritising workload, and adhering to strict deadlines.
Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings
Physical stamina and strength, often required to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
Experience of operating within a Quality Management system.
A positive and flexible attitude with the ability to act on their own initiative.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
Demonstrates integrity, honesty, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
Adaptability and openness to learning about different perspectives.
