Summary

A leading organisation undergoing major digital transformation is seeking a Senior VDI Engineer to manage and evolve its enterprise Citrix and cloud-based VDI services. This is a key technical role within the Infrastructure team, offering autonomy, influence and the opportunity to deliver meaningful service improvements.

Role Overview

You will take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the VDI environment, ensuring reliability, performance and security across Citrix, AVD and associated infrastructure. Working closely with Architecture, Service Delivery and operational teams, you'll support projects, lead upgrades and maintain a structured continuous improvement programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain Citrix VDI services and infrastructure
  • Own incident, request and change workflows via ServiceNow
  • Support and deliver VDI-related projects, migrations and enhancements
  • Maintain monitoring systems, reporting and documentation
  • Ensure compliance, security and resilience across the VDI estate
  • Liaise with vendors and third parties
  • Support disaster recovery, backups and service continuity plans
Skills & Experience
  • Expert knowledge of Citrix XenDesktop, XenServer, Citrix Cloud, Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Strong background in Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policies, FSLogix, NetScaler
  • Experience with VMware/Hyper-V, storage, networking and security concepts
  • PowerShell scripting and automation skills
  • Experience delivering upgrades and complex service changes
  • ITIL experience, ideally with ServiceNow
