Beckton

We do what we say
So that’s why we’re keen to hear from people like you, people who make it their business to get things done!

We’re proud to have been appointed to a new 8-year Framework with Thames Water. As the UK’s largest water and wastewater services provider, Thames Water plays a vital role in ensuring a reliable, sustainable network for millions of customers. We're excited to support their long-term vision by delivering essential infrastructure that strengthens network resilience, boosts environmental performance, and meets the growing needs of the region.

We are looking to recruit a permanent Back Up Driver to join our team working on the Thames Water framework, supporting the delivery of clean water mains renewal projects. This role plays an important part in supporting site teams and ensuring the safe operation of vehicles, plant, and equipment across our works.

You will work closely with operational teams, assisting with site setup and closure, logistics, and day-to-day site support to help ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to the public.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  • Safely operating company vehicles and associated plant and equipment
  • Supporting site teams on the highway and on private property, including site setup and close-down
  • Delivering and collecting signs, barriers, fittings, and materials to support daily works
  • Assisting operatives during works, including running materials to gangs
  • Maintaining safe working areas before, during, and after works are completed
  • Help to minimise disruption to residents and members of the public

We would love to hear from you if…

You hold a full, clean manual UK driving licence and are comfortable working in a physically demanding, site-based role. Experience working on water or highways projects is beneficial, along with familiarity with water fittings and local routes, including London and surrounding areas.

If you enjoy practical work, working outdoors, and being part of a team along with good organisational skills, a strong safety mindset, and a willingness to support site teams in a hands-on environment apply today.
