Summary

The Dorcan Academy is seeking a House Manager to work with the pastoral team to ensure that the needs of all students in the House are met, enabling them to make positive progress and maintain a high standard of student conduct, behaviour and attendance across the academy. The House Manager will carry out a range of responsibilities, sharing tasks with House Managers to create variety and ensure the whole pastoral team works effectively. Full details are set out in the job description. You will be promoting and fully supporting the academy’s behaviour system ensuring that duties are carried out according to academy policy. What We're Looking For: • Relevant experience of working with students aged 11-16 within a secondary school or pastoral setting. • Confident and effective approach to working with young people who have emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. • A positive and proactive attitude. We have been on a journey of improvement over the past seven years and in July 2022 were judged GOOD in all categories by Ofsted which is a major achievement. In our school students are ready to learn and ‘low level disruption is rare’. Ofsted were impressed with the excellent behaviour of our students both in lessons and around the school. We pride ourselves on being an ‘academy of opportunity’ for all with excellent relationships between staff and students. Every member of staff receives bespoke support and development through our in-house coaching programme as well as additional professional development opportunities to promote further progress and career enhancement.
