Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter to join our precision engineering team. This is a hands-on role working on bespoke, one-off components to extremely tight tolerances. The successful candidate will have strong programming, setting, and operating experience on Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes, with milling experience being advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set, and operate CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls
Create and modify programs using OneCNC software
Manufacture bespoke, one-off precision components from engineering drawings
Work with tool steels and hardened steels
Produce components to tight tolerances ranging from 5–20 microns
Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies
Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment
Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and consistency
Work closely with engineering and production teams to meet specifications and deadlines
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in precision engineering
Strong background as a CNC Turner, Programmer, and Setter
Experience using Fanuc control lathes
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
Experience machining tool steels and hard steels
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently on bespoke, one-off components
Desirable Skills
Milling experience
Multi-axis machining experience
Experience with complex or high-precision components
