Summary

Clinical To act as an expert practitioner, demonstrating advanced clinical competence and a knowledge base beyond those associated with conventional nursing roles. To ensure me safe and efficient management of the of the Minors area, assessing the workload and delegating to staff appropriately. To ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care, delivered in a timely manner. To supply and administer medicines in accordance with Patient Group Directions. To develop holistic practise to ensure competent in the administration of medications by becoming a non-medical prescriber and attending the appropriate training to achieve this. Professional To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct HPC Standards and at all times work within the Scope of Professional Practice. Ensure that professional practice adheres to Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. To maintain a professional manner and act as a role model for junior staff. To provide an annual review of the service by the ENP team and maintain confidentiality with regard to information pertaining to patients and staff. To ensure that the ENP service interfaces with all other departments in a professional and productive manner, providing an effective service to the Trust. Management To provide appropriate clinical, operational and management support as well as professional advice within Emergency department. Takes appropriate action with the department Co-ordinator in managing demands on the department and ensure that the ED escalation plan is utilised. To promote and demonstrate effective communication networks across the division and the Trust. Educational / Personal Development Maintains an excellent learning environment and has an active teaching role. To work with a consultant supervisor/mentor to support clinical practice and development of knowledge/skills providing evidence on an annual basis of all clinical skills and knowledge.
