More detail about the role The successful candidate will join a dynamic consultant team providing comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological services. The post holder will contribute to service delivery, quality improvement, teaching, and clinical governance, and will play an important role in supporting the departments workforce and rota development plans. The role is based at the Exeter site. We particularly welcome applicants with skills and experience in colposcopy who are keen to contribute to the ongoing development of gynaecology services within the Trust. Duties and responsibilities: Participate in the delivery of general obstetric services, including: Labour ward sessions Antenatal and postnatal care Contribute to general gynaecology services, with a particular emphasis on: Colposcopy clinics and service development (where appropriately trained) Emergency gynaecology services General gynaecology and urgent suspected cancer clinics Participate in the consultant on-call rota: Current frequency is 1:8, prospectively covered, including weekends The department is actively working towards implementing a 1:12 rota, and this post will directly support achievement of this aim Contribute to service recovery, transformation, and quality improvement initiatives Participate in teaching and supervision of trainees, medical students, and multidisciplinary colleagues Engage in audit, research (where applicable), and clinical governance activities Interview Date: 19th February 2026 For further information please contact: Annabel Kemp - Clinical Director for Gynaecology and Fertility annabelkemp@nhs.net As an inclusive employer, the Royal Devon values diversity and is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential.
