Summary


We are a national specialist residential unit and we receive referrals from across the country for people with complex and treatment resistant anxiety disorders.

Residents stay in our unit for a period of 20 weeks during which they have regular CBT sessions in conjunction with a well established group / OT programme . For many of our residents the opportunity to engage in consistent, frequent and active therapy can be a very significant step in their recovery.

To be able to use highly specialised technical and/or creative skills to co-ordinate, develop and facilitate a flexible, client centred programme of therapeutic activities for individuals and groups of people who experience anxiety disorders. This will encompass the unit therapeutic programme and will be developed under supervision of the ward manager with input from other multi-disciplinary staff.

We are looking to welcome an enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist to our specialist team and compassion focused community.


• To develop, provide, manage and evaluate OT interventions to the specialist service.
• To manage a complex caseload.
• To provide clinical leadership for junior staff and students through supervision and training.
• To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of clinical services using advanced clinical skills and knowledge.
• To regularly supervise OT students on practice placement.
• To provide advice on the assessment and intervention of clients’ occupational needs.
• To develop specialist, targeted OT interventions relevant to the work of ADRU; undertaking regular audit and research and development activities
• To provide training and consultancy for OT within the specialty.
• To develop and run OT groups
