About the Role:
As a Service Charge Analyst, you’ll be responsible for managing the weekly and monthly income accounting process for service charges, supporting the budget setting process, and issuing service charge notices to customers. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Income, and Housing, as well as operational service contract managers, to ensure the effective management and maximisation of income for Plus Dane.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and producing accurate service charge budgets in collaboration with budget holders and contract managers.
Ensuring service charge budgets feed into the organisation’s overall budget process and reviewing the reasonableness of proposed budgets.
Supporting the Financial Accounting Team with compiling and issuing annual service charge notices.
Handling customer queries related to service charge notices and preparing accurate statements of account.
Reviewing allocations of service charges and supporting statutory account preparation for management companies.
Providing a customer-focused service to both internal and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Mathematics and English.
Good standard of numeracy, literacy, and accuracy.
Basic IT skills, including Excel and Word.
Experience of service charges.
A customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet deadlines.
Desirable:
AAT qualification or at least 2 years’ experience in a finance role.
Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping.
Experience working in an accounts environment and with financial systems.
Ability to plan workload and support process management.
