Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker (male or female) to provide one-to-one support to Mark who lives with a brain injury in the Blantyre area.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care both at home and in the community, supporting an active and sociable individual who enjoys sport, movies, café trips, and social outings.
The Role
You will provide tailored support that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life. This includes assistance with personal care, daily living activities, and meaningful social engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Providing full personal care support, including showering, toileting (including bowel care), and shaving
• Assisting with medication administration
• Preparing nutritious meals and healthy snacks
• Supporting mobility, including pushing a manual wheelchair
• Driving a mobility vehicle (driver essential)
• Supporting with household shopping and collecting prescriptions
• Encouraging participation in social and community activities
• Assisting with daily living tasks to promote independent living
Essential Requirements
• Previous experience in a support or care role (essential)
• A proactive, creative, and flexible approach to supporting individual needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A warm, friendly, and caring nature with a genuine desire to support others
Hours & Contract
• Temporary position – 35 hours per week
• Flexibility required to cover sickness and annual leave
• Set shifts at fixed times
shift patterns:
Monday 10pm – 8 am sleeping nightshift
Tuesday 10pm – 8am sleeping nightshift
Monday 12pm – 5pm
Tuesday 12pm – 5pm
Wednesday 12pm – 5pm
Pay
• £12.60 per hour
