Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon Job – North Leeds, West Yorkshire
Salary: £38,000 – £60,000 DOE | No OOH | Excellent Work–Life Balance

A well-established, family-owned small animal practice in North Leeds is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (GP Vet) to join its friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced vet or confident new graduate, with strong clinical support and career development available.

Located on the northern edge of Leeds, the practice offers the best of both worlds — close to city amenities while being within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale, ideal for vets seeking a great lifestyle alongside a rewarding career.

About the Practice

• Independent, RCVS-accredited small animal practice
• Established in 1983, with a second branch opened in 1991
• Main practice expanded and refurbished in 1999
• 5.5-vet team, nurse training practice

The practice delivers modern veterinary medicine with traditional values, prioritising high standards of patient care and staff wellbeing.

Facilities & Clinical Exposure

• Full hospitalisation and surgical facilities
• Digital radiography
• Flexible and rigid endoscopy

Many cases are referred in-house, including:
• Dermatology
• Internal medicine

• Advanced surgery (TTA, MPL, BOAS)

The Role – Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
• GP small animal role
• Mix of consults and surgery at the main branch
• Consult-only sessions at a nearby branch
• Some sole charge on evenings and Saturdays (not immediately for new graduates)

Experience is preferred, but the right person is more important.

Rota & Work–Life Balance
• 4.5-day working week
• 1 in 5 Saturdays (9am–3pm, consults only)
• Extra half day off the following Friday
• No out-of-hours
