SEN Tutor Trafford (January 2026)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate SEN Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to children and young people in Trafford starting January 2026. This role is perfect for tutors who are confident supporting learners with additional needs and want to make a meaningful, long-term impact.
Location & Contract Details
Location: Trafford pupils homes or community-based settings
Start date: January 2026
Pay rate: From £25 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract type: Part-time / Contract
Hours: Flexible
About the Students
You will support learners with a range of Special Educational Needs, including:
Autism
ADHD
SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
Learning difficulties
Many students may be disengaged from mainstream education or working below age-related expectations. Sessions will be fully personalised to support engagement, confidence, and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in core subjects (English, Maths, or Functional Skills)
Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and emotional needs
Build positive, consistent relationships to support engagement and confidence
Provide structure, routine, and encouragement
Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents, carers, and professionals
Plan and deliver structured, student-centred sessions
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or targeted interventions
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the Child Barred List (or willingness to apply)
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
QTS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent
Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, or SEMH
Outreach or alternative provision experience
