SEND Teaching Assistant - Post-16 Specialist Provision
Full Time | Term Time Only | ASAP Start
Up to £110 per day | Long Term Role
We are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support learners within a post-16 specialist provision in Edgware, working with young people with Autism and associated additional needs.
This is a highly rewarding role supporting students as they develop independence, life skills and confidence in preparation for adulthood. The provision offers a structured, supportive environment and works closely with support staff to deliver tailored learning and pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for post-16 learners with Autism
- Support students with communication, emotional regulation and independence skills
- Assist learners with accessing vocational and functional learning activities
- Implement individual support strategies linked to EHCPs
- Work closely with tutors, SEN staff and therapists
- Promote inclusion, confidence and positive outcomes for learners
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting young people with Autism (essential)
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Confidence working with post-16 learners
- Understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practice
- Background in SEN support, care, education or youth work (desirable)
- Interest in further development within specialist or post-16 SEND settings
