Summary
Humly is recruiting a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher (QTS) to join a welcoming secondary school in Carlisle for the Spring Term.
This is a full-time role, starting from 19th January 2026 and continuing until 27th March 2026, providing consistent cover following a recent staffing change.
The role involves teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4. Due to timetable reorganisation, some flexibility around class allocation is required. Strong Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.
What You’ll Be Doing
Delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Planning and adapting lessons to meet pupil needs
Managing classroom behaviour effectively
Assessing and supporting pupil progress
Working collaboratively with the wider department

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Ability to teach English across KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge and classroom practice
A flexible and professional approach
ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply
Pay Structure
From £168.80 per day (M1)
AWR applies from day one for secondary teaching roles
(ECTs will be paid at M1; experienced teachers paid in line with applicable scale)
