Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

St Peter & St Paul’s RC Primary School are currently seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust

The main duties will include: -

• supporting the teacher in planning and helping to deliver learning activities.
• supporting the teacher in the evaluation of the learning activities.
• setting up, maintaining and dismantling displays
• escorting and supervising pupils on educational visits and trips
• supporting the children and helping to keep them safe by preparing and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment; dealing with accidents, emergencies and illnesses; encouraging positive behaviour and supporting the safeguarding of children. be to briefly summarise main duties and responsibilities of the role, this could include who they will report to/work alongside, any projects/areas they will oversee or be involved with and any daily tasks
• supporting the children’s play, learning and development by contributing to the physical, emotional and social skills of the children; encouraging and supporting the children to be creative in physical play; offering a range of play opportunities to the children and supporting their rights and choices.
• providing care, encouragement and support to any child with special educational needs
• there will also be the need to cover some lunch time duties

We are seeking an individual who:

• is an Outstanding Early Years Educator to work within our Nursery and Reception provision.
• is passionate about Early Years, enthusiastic, committed, motivated and caring, who has a patient nature to keep the Early Years a happy environment for all the children in our care.
• is educated to Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years
• will undertake any necessary professional development as identified, taking full advantage of any relevant training and development available.
• Is ideally Paediatric First Aid trained or be willing to work towards within 3 months of starting
• Is willing to attend and participate in relevant meetings and training as required
• Will contribute to positive relationships by effectively interacting with and responding to children and adults
• Supports and complies with all the school’s and Trust’s policies and ethos, particularly those relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.
• Has a commitment to the principle of working collaboratively with other schools within the St Teresa of Calcutta Academy Trust
