Summary
Job Responsibilities: Chronic disease management and reviews Cervical smears Immunisations and vaccinations Routine injections Health checks, screening and education Height/weight monitoring BP monitoring Phlebotomy Urinalysis Spirometry General health advice, including dietary advice Health surveillance Wound care and dressings Contraception Minor injuries Removal of sutures/clips Provide general and specific health screening for practice patients in accordance with practice guidelines and protocols, with referral to other members of the primary and secondary healthcare team as required. Support the lead nurse in the organisation, coordination and the provision of nursing services for the practice, including the delegation of duties to, and supervision of, other members of the nursing team as appropriate. The postholder will participate in the training programme implemented by the practice as part of their employment, including participation in an annual performance review, maintaining a record of their own personal and/or professional development, taking responsibility for their own development and demonstrating skills and activities to others.
