Summary

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Fire Engineering Consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Fire Surveyor to join their growing Manchester team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside fire engineers on a diverse range of technically challenging projects across the built environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary fire engineering consultancy, delivering fire risk assessments and supporting wider fire engineering services. You will be involved in assessing complex buildings, contributing to fire safety strategies, and providing expert advice to clients across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake Fire Risk Assessments in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and current guidance

  
  

• Inspect existing and new-build properties, including higher-risk and complex buildings

  
  

• Produce high-quality technical fire safety reports and recommendations

  
  

• Support fire engineers with fire safety strategies, compliance reviews, and remedial planning

  
  

• Liaise with clients, design teams, and duty holders to provide clear fire safety advice

  
  

• Keep up to date with fire safety legislation, standards, and industry best practice

  
  Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Fire Surveyor / Fire Risk Assessor, ideally within a consultancy environment

    
    

  • Relevant fire safety qualifications (NEBOSH Fire, IFE, IFSM, or equivalent) & Building Surveying qualifications

    
    

  • Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance

    
    

  • Ability to assess complex buildings and communicate technical information clearly

    
    

  • Excellent report-writing and client-facing skills

    
    

  • Experience with FRAEW's/PAS9980 would be desired
