Summary


Band 6 – Renal Recipient Transplant Co-ordinator

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated registered nurse with renal experience and a passion for patient education to join our growing renal specialist team. Dorset County Hospital serves as a non-surgical renal transplant centre, coordinating referrals for patients to several transplant centres across the Southwest. As part of our expanding renal specialist team, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping patient care and service delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

We are dedicated to building a confident, highly skilled team by providing tailored training and expert mentorship, empowering a successful candidate to excel and thrive in this specialist role.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate pre-transplant assessments for patients on the national transplant list and those on the Living Kidney Donation Pathway across Dorset and Somerset. They will work closely with transplant centres and living donor coordinators to ensure timely, pre-emptive kidney transplants. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will be essential to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care and guide individuals through every stage of their assessment. The role requires autonomy and teamwork, supported by excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills, alongside experience in service development. The successful candidate will receive tailored support and training to develop the knowledge and confidence needed to thrive in this specialist role.
