Key Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Coordinate and monitor SEND provision, including EHCPs
  • Advise staff on the graduated approach to SEND support
  • Work with the SEND Provision Leader to deliver consistent, high-quality provision
  • Partner with the Strategic Lead for SEND to promote an inclusive whole-school approach
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date SEND records and documentation
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers of pupils with SEND
  • Act as the main liaison with external agencies and professionals
  • Lead and deliver SEND-focused staff training and development
  • Support the strategic development of SEND policy and practice
  • Track progress and attainment of pupils with SEND and report to leaders and governors
  • Promote an inclusive, nurturing ethos aligned with the school's Rights Respecting values

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete within
  • three years of appointment, if not already held)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to SEND
  • Successful teaching experience within a primary setting
  • Experience of working with pupils with a range of SEND
  • Experience of working collaboratively with staff, families and external
  • agencies
