At Switch Up we provide individual, life-changing support to young people in communities affected by crime and violence We do this
through sport, mentoring and personal development, with the aim of improving mental and physical wellbeing to give our young
people the skills, confidence and motivation to realise their true potential. We engage young people through our boxing gym and
other sport, providing mentoring, counselling, education and personal development to develop ‘champions in and out of the ring’.

This is an exciting time for Switch Up and as a growing organisation, we are looking for upbeat, passionate and committed
individuals who share our values. As an Education Tutor, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality, safe and
inclusive education delivery through our alternative education provision. You will work with young people of school age and post
16, educating them on a one to one or small group basis. The young people we work with have have struggled in mainstream education
for various reasons, some will have been excluded, some may have SEMH or SEN needs, and have little hope of returning and need our
support in order to achieve a basic education.

You will have strong, proven tutoring skills, having taught in schools or other educational environments and the experience, drive
and enthusiasm to work with some of the hardest to reach young people. You will be flexible, motivated and resilient, able to
handle challenging situations and have the ability to make education fun. Our targeted youth mentoring team provide support
alongside our alternative education provision, and there will be a requirement for you to step in with some mentoring support too.

This role will be pro rata to term time only (actual salary £20,923 - £22,596 including annual leave and bank holiday pay),
however this could be negotiated if the successful candidate has transferable skills.

If you can:

* Bring out the best in young people
* Are passionate about providing high quality, meaningful education to young people
* Understand that for some young people education can be a challenge
* See the positives when things get tough
* Believe that every young person can reach their true potential with the right support
* Are super organised
* Have great communication and admin skills
* Use a laptop in a paperless environment

We’d love to hear from you.

The role is full time during term time only and you would need businesses insurance on your car and a willingness to transport
young people. You would be based at our Mansfield Community Hub, and would be required to travel to pick up and drop off learners
as part of this role.

If you’d like to know more and think you might be a good fit, send us your CV, we are eager to talk to you.
