Job Description: Charitable Organisation Manager

The Charitable Organisation Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial sustainability of the organisation. This individual serves as the bridge between the mission of the charity and the practical resources required to achieve it, ensuring that all activities align with both legal requirements and the core values of the non-profit sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership and Planning

Direct Operations: Plan and coordinate the allocation of human, financial, and physical resources to ensure the organisation’s goals are met efficiently.
Policy Development: Lead the formulation and implementation of organisational policies, ensuring they remain robust, ethical, and fully compliant with current legal and statutory provisions.
Governance: Work closely with the Board of Trustees to provide transparency, report on progress, and align day-to-day activities with long-term strategic visions.

2. Financial Management and Income Generation

Fundraising Strategy: Oversee and coordinate the preparation of major funding bids to trusts, foundations, and government bodies.
Donor Relations: Manage and nurture high-level relationships with key funders, corporate partners, and individual donors.
Revenue Growth: Design and execute public appeals and community fundraising initiatives to ensure a steady and diverse stream of income.

3. Advocacy and Public Relations

External Representation: Act as the primary spokesperson for the charity in negotiations and consultations with government officials, local authorities, and other external bodies.
Public Awareness: Stimulate public interest and support by delivering lectures, participating in media interviews, and overseeing the organisation's digital and print publicity.
Information Dissemination: Direct the production and publication of annual reports, research findings, and impact statements to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
