Summary
The post holder is responsible for working as a member of the Nursing Team in all aspects of their clinical and administrative activities, both in the surgeries and patients’ homes, where appropriate. Together with the Administrative Team, the post holder should ensure that the interactions between patients and other visitors to the Practice and Practice Team are to the standards agreed. Provide a personal resource and point of communication between the patient and the practice, both in the waiting area and during doctor/nurse/patient consultations. Assist patients in their usage of practice equipment and the collection of specimens. Act as a chaperone support if required by doctors/nurses. Maintain, store and retrieve records both manual and computerised. Provide clerical support for the Nursing Team including recording clinical information, preparation of appointment list and preparing and sending appointment letters. Receive and transmit information on the telephone to the agreed practice standard, with particular reference to confidentiality. Clinical responsibilities included in this job description will only be undertaken after adequate training has been verified.
