About the Company
This position is working for a well-established and growing house building company delivering high-quality residential developments across the North West. They pride themselves on strong supplier relationships, efficient procurement, and building homes to the highest standards.
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Buyer to join the commercial/procurement team. You will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services across multiple residential developments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities-
Procure materials, plant, and subcontract services for residential housing projects

Prepare and issue enquiries, analyse quotations, and place purchase orders

Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors

Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and source new ones as required

Monitor material costs against budgets and report cost movements

Ensure timely deliveries to site in line with construction programmes

Work closely with Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Commercial Managers

Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety standards, and sustainability targets

Previous experience as a Buyer within house building or construction (essential)

Strong knowledge of building materials and supply chains

Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Commercially aware with good cost control skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Experience working for a residential developer or main contractor

Knowledge of COINS, Sage, or similar construction ERP systems

Relevant qualification in construction, procurement, or supply chain management
