Summary
We are advertising for a fixed term contract for 12 months (maternity cover) to work predominantly within the Choices Learning Disability Partnership team which is a forensic team working with adults and older people with LD in the community.
The post holder will be responsible for assessing and providing SLT intervention to service users in the community LD pathway and working with the team and support staff to support
The successful Speech and Language candidate will contribute to mentoring and support for more junior staff within the team particularly the B5 SLT and B4 SLT assistant working on inpatient LD wards. Some SLT support to inpatient adult MH wards to be offered in addition.
The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team comprising of a range of mental health professionals. There will be regular professional supervision and they will join a team of SLTs within the forensic pathway and access wider support, liaison and CPD via network of SLTs working in forensic services across East, North and West London.

Please note that whilst dysphagia competencies are desirable they are not essential. The candidate should have experience of working with adults with intellectual disability.
