About the Role
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Joiner to join our Maintenance Services Team at The University of Derby.
Reporting into the Building Supervisor you will bring your experience to assist the team in delivering a first-class customer orientated installation, repair and maintenance service to the University’s portfolio of buildings. This will involve carrying out a wide range of reactive Joinery works to university sites and premises in accordance with the appropriate regulations and standards. Supervising the work of the Maintenance Assistants you will maintain a safe working environment for all our staff, students and visitors.
You will also be provided with a uniform and the required tools for the jobs you undertake.
About You
You will be expected to have a minimum City & Guilds Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience and willing to work towards the qualification.
You will also have experience working with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass insulation, drywall, shelving, doors and associated ironmongery, to produce items such as interior and exterior doors, bookshelves, cabinets and furniture. You will also have experience repairing and erecting structures, such as, for exhibition display boards.
