The Role
The Senior Social Worker will join a Child Protection team on a short‑term maternity cover assignment. You will manage a complex caseload involving Child Protection plans and pre‑proceedings work, ensuring timely, robust interventions that safeguard children and support families. This role requires strong assessment skills, confident decision‑making, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast‑paced statutory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of Child Protection and pre‑proceedings cases.
Complete high‑quality assessments, plans, and reports in line with statutory requirements.
Lead on safeguarding interventions, ensuring timely and proportionate action.
Work closely with multi‑agency partners to support effective risk management.
Prepare documentation for legal processes and attend relevant meetings.
Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date case records.
Contribute to team development and uphold the Trust’s practice standards.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with registration.
Minimum 2 years’ post‑qualifying experience in Child Protection or statutory safeguarding.
Strong understanding of pre‑proceedings processes and risk assessment.
Confident communicator with excellent report‑writing skills.
Ability to manage complex caseloads and work under pressure.
Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to provide required compliance documentation.
