Summary
Vantage, part of Mitie Telecoms are looking for a lifting supervisor who will work to deliver multiple lifting operation projects. Providing expert lifting guidance supporting the wider team to ensure compliance and safe working practices at all times. The role will involve travel across the UK to various project sites. You will be instrumental in delivering a safe, successful lifting operations provision.
What are the main duties of the Lifting Supervisor?
You will be responsible for the execution and safety of all lifting operations in accordance with BS7121, reviewing all risk assessments and method statements, recording findings in the dynamic risk assessment. You will also, through qualification, be required to drive the Company LGV Vehicle. Along with ensuring all safe conditions of the lifting appliances and lifting equipment are recorded accurately within the method statements. You will be responsible for ensuring all records including photographs are document managed, stored and retained for audit purposes and quality control.
Your primary focus will be on maintaining compliance with established safe working practices, providing expert guidance to the team, and managing records and documentation for audit purposes.
This role is a dual role where the role holder will be required to drive to different project sites across the UK, assess weather conditions, and possess the authority to halt any unsafe activity.
Other responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:-
-Provide advise, guidance and instruction to other slingers and drivers throughout the operation
-Supervise work and consult with other responsible persons to ensure work is undertaken as safely as possible
-Assess weather conditions and all other impacts, you will be empowered to stop any activity that is deemed unsafe
What does our ideal candidate look like?
You will have your CPCS card or equivalent - Red (in training) or Blue (trained operator). CPCS Slinger Signaller. This will be accompanied with :-
-Asbestos Awareness
-Working at height
-Driving License Cat B.
-Competent in reading & writing Risk assessments, Method statements and Dynamic Risk assessments
-Physically fit
-Ability to build and develop strong customer and client relationships
-Good communication skills
