Personal Assistant (PA)/Support Worker

About the Direct Payment Holder We are seeking a reliable and patient Support Worker with experience supporting individuals with autism to assist a 26 year old man to develop independence, confidence, and daily living skills.
The individual has ASD, experiences significant anxiety, and is exploring a possible ADHD diagnosis. He requires structured support, encouragement, and practical assistance to engage in daily activities, access the community, and build routine.

Hours and rate of pay hours 8 hours per week @ £16.60 per hour.
Location Ely, Cambridgeshire, CB6
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
What you would be doing… • Support to access the community at his own pace
• Assisting him to access and gain educational qualifications and filling gaps in his learning
• Assisting with future vocational goals, including exploring work experience opportunities and one-off volunteering projects, when he is able to do so.
• Assistance with attending appointments and engaging in hobbies
• Encouragement to build structure, plan weekly activities, and develop independence
• Support with daily living tasks including shopping, cooking, cleaning, and laundry
• Guidance with budgeting, financial awareness, and appropriate dressing
• Flexible emotional support, recognising that anxiety may limit activities on some days

Required skills and experience • Experience working with autistic individuals
• Car owner/driver with business insurance essential (mileage will be paid)
• Calm, patient, and supportive approach
• Ability to adapt to fluctuating needs and provide consistent encouragement
• Commitment to promoting independence and personal choice
