Summary

If you’re a qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration we’d love to hear from you!

Joining our countywide Children and Families Occupational Therapy Service, you’ll carry out home visits to deliver holistic assessments, develop tailored intervention plans, and review progress. You’ll work collaboratively with our team and external partners to support children and young people up to 18 years old who have physical or cognitive impairments to carry out everyday activities. Your passion to make a real difference will be vital when delivering a specialist equipment and home adaptation service to help disabled children thrive in their own homes.

You’ll enjoy working in a team that thrives on supporting each other, sharing experiences and learnings to encourage continuous improvement. We have varied experience and backgrounds across the team, with regular opportunities for training and ongoing development.  

What you’ll do: 
• Manage a varied caseload to support children with physical and learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD.
• Deliver person-centred functional assessments and interventions that empower children to complete everyday activities.
• Complete moving and handling plans and make recommendations for home adaptations.
• Collaborate closely with a diverse team of professionals, including Senior Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Social Workers, Grant Officers and Borough, District and City Council staff.
• Work autonomously, providing expert guidance and support to colleagues, underpinned by social care legislation and clinical best practice.

What we’re looking for: 
• Occupational Therapy qualification and professional registration with HCPC. 
• Experience of working within paediatric and/or adults’ social care, community or hospital-based services.
• Understanding of the statutory duties of local government in social care and relevant children-related legislation. 
• Experience in assessment, planning and reviewing of case work. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, escalating cases as required. 
• Commitment to demonstrating our values and behaviours.
