Summary
Fixed Term Storeperson / Labourer
Location: Carlisle (with travel to other UK SAR bases)
Contract: Fixed term – 12 months
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
We are looking for a Fixed Term Storeperson / Labourer to support a UK Search and Rescue (UKSAR) Temporary Seasonal Base in Carlisle. The base operates from April to October, with the role required before, during, and after the season to assist with base setup, operations, and shutdown, including security and mandatory testing.
Outside of the peak season, the role will support other UKSAR bases across the UK (and potentially Europe), providing cover during leave, assisting with stock checks, and completing remote Goods In inspections. Travel will be required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Open and close stores at the seasonal base and ensure operational readiness.
Act as base caretaker during the off-season, maintaining facility security and compliance.
Manage aircraft and non-aircraft stores, including stock control, booking parts in/out, packing, and shipping.
Maintain accurate stock records and support stock checks.
Undertake other duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
Maintain cleanliness of the hangar and maintenance areas.
Drive company vehicles for deliveries and collections.
Clean aircraft once trained and authorised.
Assist with towing and positioning aircraft as required.
Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer.
Qualifications
Full driving licence
Forklift licence desirable
Skills & Experience
SAP experience advantageous
Knowledge of dangerous goods handling preferred
Computer literate, including Microsoft Office
Intermediate Excel skills desirable
