About Us
At FDB (First Databank), we create and deliver trusted drug knowledge that helps healthcare professionals make safer decisions, improving patient safety, efficiency, and outcomes. Our solutions are embedded across hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies, and wider healthcare systems, supporting millions of patients every day.
Our values guide how we work: Better Together, Clear Expectations, Constantly Curious, and Health at the Heart.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Product Owner with a technical product delivery background to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
You’ll take ownership of backlog and delivery for a B2B SaaS clinical decision support product used by healthcare teams to make time-critical, safety-critical decisions. Working with engineering, UX, and stakeholders, you’ll help ensure we build the highest-value improvements, enhancing usability, performance, and customer outcomes.
You’ll also have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in healthcare technology and develop your product craft in a mission-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
As Product Owner, you’ll guide the delivery of enhancements to a core product area and translate real user needs into clear, valuable outcomes.
You will:
- Own and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring items are well defined, sized, and ready for delivery
- Manage delivery of the roadmap, balancing customer needs, technical constraints, risk, and business goals
- Partner with engineering and UX from discovery through delivery (problem framing, solution, and release)
- Turn insights into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release notes
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., customer-facing teams, subject matter experts) to align priorities and expectations
- Use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity (e.g., drafting documentation, synthesising feedback, supporting analysis)
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Experience in a Product Owner/technical product delivery role (or similar) in a B2B SaaS environment
- Confidence working with cross-functional teams to deliver software improvements end-to-end
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
- Strong research and discovery skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, validate needs, and uncover insights
- The ability to produce clear documentation, data, and analysis
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating change and ambiguity
Nice to have:
- Exposure to healthcare, regulated environments, or clinical software
- Project management experience and/or relevant qualifications (Agile/SAFe, Scrum, PRINCE2)
The Benefits
- Competitive salary
- 25 days’ annual leave (option to buy up to 5 additional days)
- Enhanced pension scheme
- Health & wellbeing benefits, including HealthShield cashback and coaching
- Flexible and hybrid working options
- Electric Vehicle Scheme
- Life assurance and permanent health insurance
- Charity days and volunteering opportunities
- And many more…!
Working Pattern
This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to be in the Exeter office at least two days per week.
