We are now seeking a committed and compassionate Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant to join this inspiring setting in Derby (DE24) from 2nd February 2026.

About the Role
- Candidates must have their own car and business insurance as there may be some driving for school involved - Safe & Well checks at pupils' homes.
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs in mainly maths lessons.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
- Support pupils' academic progress as well as their emotional wellbeing and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver personalised learning plans.
- Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic support strategies.


About You
- Candidate must be fully compliant; this includes a DBS on the update system, UK Driving License and 2x references.
- Experience working in SEN, alternative provision, PRUs, or youth support settings
- Skilled in positive behaviour management with strong emotional resilience
- A Maths background or confidence supporting numeracy is an advantage
- Calm, compassionate, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to helping young people succeed
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team
