Summary
Stone Well Cottage Day Nursery located in Moulton Village, Northamptonshire, are recruiting!
We are looking for a Level 2 or 3 childcare practitioner. We are looking for someone to work full time or part time within our setting.
The hours will be between 8-6pm with various shifts depending on children and staff. You will become a member of the staff team and be counted in ratios. You will have an enhanced DBS completed and ideally will hold a relevant first aid qualification and have undergone safeguarding training although training can and will be provided.
We are looking for hard working individuals, who have a true passion for working with children and being able to offer the best care and education possible. In return you will work for a lovely nursery, set in a grade 2 listed cottage in the heart of a beautiful village. We work closely as a nursery team and are able to make the most of being in a village setting. We care about all of our children, families and staff and aim to make work a lovely place to come to.
Every candidate will be subject to our safer recruitment process and will need a completed DBS check to be successful in the post. There will also be a three month probationary period.
Purpose of Post
1. Ensuring a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and learning through play for children placed in the setting.
2. Supervision of and support to the other personnel within the setting therefore implementing high standards of quality practices.
3. Working in partnership with and supporting the Manager and Deputy to ensure the daily running and administration of the nursery, adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Stonewell Cottage Day Nursery and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation stage.
Duties and Responsibilities
Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
Operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range and ability of children in your room in conjunction with the current government recommended curriculum, alongside other staff members including the manager.
To keep an accurate record of achievement file including observations on your key children, and to ensure these are up to date and available for reviews for parents and carers, in conjunction with the Manager.
Work with parents of special or additional needs children to achieve full integration in the setting. Foresee the needs of children with special needs and give physical, emotional, intellectual guidance as appropriate.
Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members
Attend and have input on staff meetings.
Undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment and rooms and such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the manager.
To ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times and be responsible for the Health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children.
To develop and maintain good relationships and communications with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and developmental needs.
To attend any additional training as necessary to support your individual key children

Skills:
