Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the school’s strategic vision for inclusion, behaviour, and attendance in line with whole-school improvement priorities.
• Develop and implement policies and practices that promote an inclusive and aspirational culture across the school.
• Work as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to drive continuous improvement in standards, culture, and provision for all learners.
• Use data strategically to monitor, evaluate, and improve outcomes for all pupil groups.
• Having strategic oversight of Personal Development within the school including RHSE, Careers, Student Leadership, Enrichment and Character Development

Behaviour and Attendance

• Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the school’s Behaviour for Learning policy to ensure consistency and high expectations.
• Oversee systems for monitoring attendance and punctuality, ensuring interventions are timely, effective, and lead to measurable improvement.
• Support staff in managing behaviour effectively specifically in classrooms but also around the building through professional development, coaching, and modelling best practice.
• Work with families, external agencies, and pastoral teams to reduce persistent absence and suspensions.

Inclusion and Pupil Groups

• Oversee provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in collaboration with the SENDCo.
• Champion the needs and outcomes of disadvantaged students, including those in receipt of Pupil Premium and ensure the schools strategic plan and implementation is fit for purpose and impactful.
• Work alongside SLT to embed strategies to close attainment and progress gaps for identified groups, including low, middle, and high attaining students.
• Ensure high-quality interventions and teaching strategies are in place, evaluated for impact, and aligned with school priorities.

Leadership of People and Systems

• Line manage key staff including the Assistant Principals within the Inclusion Team.
• Line manage the SENDCo and or/key academic or pastoral departments.
• Develop a culture of professional growth, collaboration, and accountability within all teams under your leadership.
• Oversee the effective use of funding streams (e.g., Pupil Premium, Catch-Up, SEN) to ensure maximum impact on student outcomes.
• Lead on staff training and development related to behaviour management, inclusion, and supporting diverse learner needs.

Safeguarding and Welfare

• Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure safeguarding practices are robust and integrated within behaviour and attendance systems.
• Promote a safe, supportive, and respectful school environment where all pupils feel valued and heard.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop positive relationships with parents, carers, and external partners to support pupil welfare, attendance, and engagement.
• Represent the school at meetings and forums relating to inclusion, behaviour, and attendance.
