We are seeking an IT Administrative Assistant to provide essential administrative and coordination support to the IT department. Acting as a primary point of contact for the wider college community, the role focuses on managing communication between users and the IT team and ensuring support requests are handled efficiently and in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities include receiving and responding to helpdesk enquiries via phone and email, accurately logging and tracking requests within the helpdesk system, and liaising with IT technical staff to allocate and monitor work. The role also involves raising quotations, placing and tracking orders and deliveries, preparing meeting documentation, taking minutes, producing reports, and carrying out other routine administrative tasks.
This is a non-technical role; however, a basic understanding of IT services and processes would be advantageous.
The role is suited to an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately and consistently while managing multiple tasks. The IT Administrative Assistant plays a key role in maintaining efficient processes and supporting effective coordination within the IT team, enabling technical staff to focus on service delivery and project work while ensuring administrative tasks are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
This main location for this post is the Ipswich Campus, however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus, therefore you may be required to work at and travel between campuses.
